I mean seriously Edwin Edwards has an even more colorful past, with his ladies and dumpster pick ups and we would put him back in the Governor's Mansion if we could.
The only downside to Petrino is that he'd bail out as soon as someone offered him a slightly better offer. No doubt his moving is because he is a dick. He's a great coach but I'm sure after a few years in one place he's shite on so many people in the organization that he feels like he's swimming in a toilet of diarrhea water and jumps at the chance to get a change of scenery. But he would win us games and make LSU football legit despite what the pro-Herman guys say. And retreading Jimbo is settling for that 6 at the bar when it's closing in on last call. Petrino's the slutty hot piece who'll give you a night to tell your grandkids about along with a side of VD and genital warts.
Petrino = Inspired and Daring Hire.
Jimbo = Conservative, play it safe hire.
Herman = A gamble, but may be a winner.
I hope Alleva grows a pair and makes a run for Bobby. Games would be fun to watch and his colorful past and eccentric personality would make us Louisiana Proud.

non of this even matters. The bottom fricking line is his buyout is 10million if he goes to another school. We are not paying a 10 million dollar buyout especially for a piece of shite like him that saban has routinely made his bitch.

The man is an awful human being, I know someone who has worked with him. If you don't believe that listen to what some of his former players say about him. Todd McClure was asked of his opinion of Petrino a few weeks ago and basically had the same opinion my friend did.

It probably wouldn't garner much attention after the initial shock inside and around the country. But Petrino is not interested in leaving Louisville. I watch his press conferences, I know his body language, I knew one of his kids briefly when he first got to Arkansas. According to the kid, he wished he had never left Louisville, and realized it was his destination job. That's hard to argue if he's already in the top 5 there. Most likely he will either retire there, or his recruiting will collapse and you wouldn't want him anyway. He's really just a glorified offensive and defensive coordinator rolled in to one.

Got a link to that. Because honestly it was first reported it was 10 years per year left on his contract. Then reported as 10million for the life of the contract.
in the end though it is a mute point, he isn't leaving Louisville.

Petrino would be killer with LSU's talent and a great DC like Aranda.
Too much baggage though. and add the buyout to that and it gets really tough to hire him.
I think we'd have to get turned down by about 4-5 guys before we seriously considered Petrino.

How is it that everyone has overlooked this post? This is reason enough, combined with the situation he initially left in Louisville where Kragthorpe had to clean house, and the lawsuits he opened Arkansas up to by using his position to get a job for his girlfriend, he should never be considered at LSU.

He's a back stabbing totally selfish POS. He tried as best as he could to stab Tubby in the back when he interviewed for Tub's job while Tub's was still the HC. Tubs being his former HC & friend. And then lied about it till AU fessed up that they had met. From a football perspective, his teams score a ton of points. His teams play no defense, one reason is he always focuses on offensive players. Aranda needs players like he has now to succeed. BP does not recruit those kinds of players. The day LSU sells its soul by hiring him is the day I stop going to T.S. He's an embarrassment & LSU would look like whores to the national media.

but would he be able to bring in the talent? Can't see a lot of recruits being all that eager to play for Petrino.
