A lot of times the hires that don't seem like big splashes work out. I could see him being very successful. He knows USC, and I'm sure he will do things a bit differently this time (compared to how he has been doing it at Washington).

Most 'SC people are pissed.

Not Sark's fault. We want Haden fired for being an idiot since taking over during the witch hunt that was the ncaa investigation, and rolling over for that bullshite.

i don't see how this is a bad hire. he turned a WINLESS Washington team into a ranked team in 3 years. his skill set matches the personal he will have available to him . this is a very good though not sexy, hire.

Haden sucks.

He's a choir boy - thinking he had to be so the complete opposite of Garrett...

Well, he's not that opposite - he just hired another Carroll flunky...

Not a terrible hire, but kind of an uninspired one. Sark did alright getting UDub back to some respectability considering the disaster he inherited, but his teams never built on wins against USC and Stanford to really get things going.

I remember Mora considering UDub his dream job at one time, but he seemed pretty elated after the win against USC Saturday night. He might prefer his current situation now.

If Lupoi goes to SC, there will be some recruits flipping.

Sark really hasn't proven anything at the HC level. He's 34-29 with one bowl win. You'd think USC could look for someone proven at least.

I think Sark's always wanted the SC job. I wanted him to be "the guy" when PC left for Seattle, but I don't think Sark wanted 3 years of sanctions suckage, so he took the UW job instead. He's done OK up there, but nothing spectacular. I'm not bitterly disappointed or anything, but I'm not wowed, either. I really enjoyed the ride while coach O was in charge, but that was destined to end sooner or later. He's a great charismatic figure for the players to rally around, but we need an X's and O's guy, and maybe Sark can get it done. I'm in wait and see mode.

I laugh at everyone saying he "turned around" Washington. Did he really? Gus Malazhan had a bigger turnaround at Auburn in way less time than Sark did in 5 years at UW.

This is a mediocre hire for USC.

How many times does Chris Petersen have to tell USC no before they believe him?

About as many times as all the other schools out there that he has said no to.
