Any idea who UW is going to look at to replace him?

My guess on how it goes...
1) Ask Mora (apparently we've already reached out to him). If he declines...
2) Ask Petersen. He will probably say no, but it's worth a shot. If he declines...
3) Promote Wilcox. He was leaving for a head coaching job in the next year or two anyways.

Terrible.

I wanted to be free from the...cabal of coaches who got HC jobs just because they were on Carroll's staff during the Bush/Leinart Dynasty.

Kiffin 2.0

Needed new blood.

I thought the timing of him stepping down as Broncos interim was pretty much perfect for USC

no way was he leaving DEN soon, esp. considering they may make a deep playoff run

Del Rio is about to ride this team into another NFL head coaching job. Which would be hilarious, because he kind of sucks as a coach.

To be fair, Sark inherited an 0-12 team at Udub.

If he takes Tosh AND keep O as DC/AHC he'll bring in all the talent he needs to be successful.

Mora isn't leaving UCLA, he's got that program moving up and is in the biggest market on the west coast.

This isn't a bad hire, but with ASU exploding, Arizona on the rise and UCLA running off with all the LA recruits...The Pac 12 South is a tough place to win as it is.

Underwhelming the recruits isn't a plus.

Did he? I thought I remembered a story where in the early 2000s, he basically sat around watching his phone all day waiting for a call from UW. You could be right if you are talking about after we fired Willingham though.

Sark has been consistent if nothing else at UW. His Pac 12 records:

4-5
5-4
5-4
5-4
5-4

I would be pretty surprised if we went all out for Mora and he declined. He still lives up here, his family is still here, he played at UW, and he's a diehard UW guy. He caught a lot of heat in Atlanta when he said that he would leave in the middle of a playoff run to take the UW job if it was open and offered to him.

If true, I think they could have done MUCH better. I thought for sure they would get a coach with significant NFL experience, especially when consider the fact that A. their last great coach was an NFL guy and B. Their cross-town rival has returned to prominence very quickly with a former NFL head coach. This seems like a "make an early hire to save the recruiting class" decision. Too many good things about that job to settle for a former USC asst. who has been good, but certainly not great at a fellow Pac-12 school.

Which is exactly why USC fans are in meltdown mode

UW fans are pretty split. Some are happy and some are indifferent. I haven't seen too many that are really mad about it (other than bringing up the typical quotes from Sark about his future at UW).

Now a Seattle reporter is saying that Wilcox will be following Sarkisian to USC.

i'd imagine that he either acts like a crazy person, or stares at one place mumbling to himself like an autistic child.
