Did he skip the Penn State and Kentucky games? I don't think he's going, but this article is BS.
His midget stunt double coached those games. No one noticed.

I still don't understand how Bama fans can be so stupid. How can you trust a guy like Saban?
Is it likely that Sexton is using the NFL to get more money from Bama? Yes.
Does Saban and wife have it made in Alabama? Yes.
Would he be stupid to leave? Probably.
Can you trust Saban as far as you can throw him? Absolutely not. There is literally zero reason to believe anything he says regarding leaving Alabama. He's going to say the things to make you happy, right up until he decides he wants to do something else.

He's been at Bama for 6 seasons. That's longer than he's been anywhere else. When he goes into the college football hall of fame it will be as a Bama coach. His legacy is going to be tied to what he's done at Bama moreso that what he's done anywhere else (all of which he's been at less time than he's been at Bama).
Just because he left MSU (for a better job) and LSU (for a better job) doesn't mean he's going to leave Bama. I know there are some LSU fans who seem to struggle with this. Not sure if it is the misplaced sense of rejection (he took a BETTER job and he didn't leave you FOR Bama) or the intense desire to see him leave Bama b/c of the misguided belief that Bama will suddenly "suck" once he's gone. Either way, for your own mental health...Let. It. Go.

In all seriousness, I don't think hes going anywhere.

But, comments like this is why I might take a day off of work to stay home and enjoy the meltdown in Tuscaloosa.

Although they would be stupid to offer that to a guy who has never done shite in the NFL.

What was wrong with the comment? Anyone feeling a sense of rejection would be misguided. He left LSU for an NFL job. I don't think Bama fans would mind as much if he left for an NFL job b/c it isn't a flat rejection.
There are some fans who feel Bama would "suck" if he left. It's just not true. The place is stocked with talent and every coach at Bama over the past 50+ years (even the God awful ones) have managed to have at least one 10 win season. Bama is better positioned to replace this coach than any other coach they've ever had.
I think LSU fans are in one of three categories:
1) Cool. Worry only about themselves and couldn't care less about what Saban does. They want to beat him, but if he leaves, he leaves.
2) butt hurt. Mad he left and then (eventually) ended up at a rival. Want him to stay so they can "show him" or want him to leave because they hate him. No fear, just mad.
3) don't like competiting against him and want him gone b/c it represents - in their minds - the easiest path to atlanta.
I tend to enjoy interacting with the first type of lsu fan and avoiding the 2nd & 3rd. That said, the every day threads that Saban is "gone" just because he's left other places are always started by the 2nd and 3rd type...which doesn't appear to be you.

I honestly hope he doesn't go becaue like Spurrier in the 90's, Saban makes the whole conference have to be better to compete.
But $100m for a guy with his ego would be hard to pass up. The NFL is his one glaring failure. He's been great in college, but if he never gives it another go in the NFL, his epitath will say "Great college coach, but he sucked in the NFL". I think he'd love a chance to rewrite that.

That will not be his epitath. His epitath will be greatest college coach of all time. Who gives a shite about the nfl?
And the Dolphins have sucked for over 20 years and they still suck today, six years after Saban.
Bottom line, Saban is going to get a huge raise. Large enough that it will be all that is talked about here the entire off season.

If they offer that, it would be brainless to not accept. No coach would turn that down.
But I don't think Haslam is that dumb

nope. Saban's a liar (not unlike any other coach, player, etc.). We've been in your shoes before. Believing Saban. He said he was happy at LSU. That he wasn't considering positions else where. Then, he left on Christmas Day.
He said he was happy at Miami. Had unfinished business. "I will not be the head coach at Alabama." Then was wearing a crimson tie within days.
It isn't a projection to say that Saban's words to the media mean nothing. It is a fact based on years of evidence. And, Tide fans ignoring that are delusional.

Because its fun to mess with you guys.

I agree completly. If Saban left, Bama would have no problem attracting a top tier coach, and barring a tremendous mis-hire, would not be going anywhere.

See my post above. Anyone that thinks Saban leaving will affect Bama's competitiveness are delusional. Aside from them hiring Lane Kiffin and having a massive recruiting scandal, Bama aint going anywhere.
But it is soooo much fun to mess with you guys about it.

doesn't matter. Saban is the best in the business. There isn't a coach alive who will come after Saban at Bama and keep them equal or make them better. It just isn't happening. Any one thinking differently is delusional. Can another coach come in and keep them competing for SEC Championships and maybe even get a NC? Sure. But, you aren't getting 3/4 with someone not named Saban.
quote:Anyone that doesn't realize how great Saban is, is delusional. Regardless of the hire, Bama will be worse off without Saban, even if it is very slight.

If anyone remembers this particular 2 week stretch between December 10-25, 2004; It was handled in the crappiest way possible.

How much would UTA offer if Mack stepped down . Let's see Austin or Cleveland .
