Bama will have to pony up the money to keep Saban even though he has no plans to go - Sexton doing work and he knows Mal will cut the check.

Why in the hell is Cleveland so intent on getting rid of Shurmur? The guy has literally played with almost nothing the last 2 years, and finally this year the team has been competitive. Another decent draft and a couple free agent pickups, they could at least contend for a wild card spot next year.

Why would he be an idiot? There comes a time when quality of life trumps chasing the buck. He gets his nuts slathered at Bama, and makes a bucket load of money. Pick of the recruits, great facilities, top program, gets full control, and his wife seems happy there. If he goes it would be about his EGO, not the money.

He'll work exactly the same amount of hours that he will at Alabama - and be the paid more than any other coach ever (I'm pretty sure). Dude's a workaholic, I'm sure he's not worried about working too much

Has nothing to do with work load. Who wants to coach in Cleveland. Way to miss the point. He is 60+. The only thing to get him to go will be to change what he did at the pro level.

100 million dollars. Sounds like you're missing the point.

Even more reason.

10 yrs/100 million (if true) is hard to turn down for any team, at any age.

If he goes it's because he wants to coach for 8 or 9 more years, if he stays it's because he only wants to coach a couple of years.

Alabama could and would match any contract offered to Saban. $10 million a year is nothing compared to the revenue he helps bring the university each year.

Well he's consistently stated that he prefers the college game to the NFL due to being able to out work the competition and not having to deal with millionaire prima donnas. If money is no object, then why are we having this discussion?
