Does Lance Leipold bolt from Kansas?

If he can somehow get them to a bowl again next year is he gone? Kansas seems like an extremely difficult place to attract football talent and sustain success. A program builder like Leipold would wreck shite most places

Honestly thought he'd be the #1 target for Nebraska

He may have been as no one knows what goes on behind the scenes. I would not be surprised if KU announces a raise and an extension. but at this rate he will finish -

He signed an extension in late November that runs through 2029. Salary starts at $5 million and increases by 100k every year.

said this before, but if i'm lance, i'm staying at KU long term. not a pressure cooker job, and they'll worship you if you get them to bowl games consistently with an occasional 9 or 10 win season
$5M/yr with very low stress > $7.5M/yr with fans wanting your head after every loss, especially at his age

Kind of like the Iowa coach who has not won a conference title or come close to sniffing a final 4

They still getting random NOLA kids?

Not yet but yeah eventually. Especially if he can make them a 8 win program

If you're talking about Ferentz, he has done both of those.

I heard some pundits saying that KU is now investing big money into their football program with new facilities. So, he might stay there awhile.

Will probably stay until someone comes with an offer he can't say no to.

He seems content to stay and try and build something. Admin at KU has committed to renovations and paying him as of late. I think he’ll ride it out for at least 2/3 more years at least.

No why would he? He is considered a saint in Lawrence right now. Dude Is rebuilding arguably one of the worst programs in modern history

I assume the cost of living there is low as hell too.
Schedule nothing but cupcakes in non conference to keep that record respectable, keep winning between 7-9 games with some outliers here and there, keep leveraging other job interest into raises, ride it out as long as you can.
Be rich, retire.

I've said the same thing about Fritz and Tulane. It's still a challenge but if you have say 2 bad years the fan base won't burn your house down.
