I know this would be crazy and it would be way too many moving parts for this to be planned.
But when Woodward brought in Jimbo with this big contract and no buyout if Jimbo leaves, was he playing a long game thinking he might be headed to LSU himself and might want to get Jimbo there.

Jimbo flirted with LSU before A&M. LSU handled the Miles thing terribly. Woodward seeing that Alleva screwed things up with Miles and hired CEO and then the men's BB ordeal and Alleva suspending Wade, was Woodward catching wind that he might be headed to LSU himself or was there an effort by donors to get Woodward to LSU.

So could Woodward possibly see this far ahead and grant Jimbo a no buyout if Jimbo walked? Did Woodward suspect he might be heading to LSU in a few years and allow the no buyout in Jimbo's contract in the event SW wants to get Jimbo to LSU?

I suspect Woodward was suspicious of CEO really working out long term and maybe he was laying the foundation for himself and Jimbo to come to LSU.

I know it seems far fetched but I find it odd that a coach can get such a huge contract with huge buyout for the school but no buyout for the coach if he leaves for another job.

If it's Jimbo, you can bet the Aggie melt will be focused on this no matter how unlikely it is.

I heard theres a clause in Jimbos contract that if he leaves for LSU he actually gets a bonus from Texas A&M but only if Scott is the AD at LSU.

Its in the fine print.

has anyone brought up the fact that the only reason why A&M is having such a strong recruiting class is because hes telling all of them that hes going to LSU? is this all part of woodwards long game? he gets jimbo to get all of these 5*s to "commit" to A&M, only to have them all immediately flip to LSU once he leaves just so LSU can multiply the kick to the nuts to A&M

am i the crazy one for thinking this is whats happening?

I think LSU is absolutely the reason Jimbo doesn’t have a buyout.

And Scott was always waiting to land at LSU. He literally never canceled the country club membership and continued to pay the dues.

That guy definitely knows what's up. Rohan Davey knew Jimbo so it's probably him.

I think he doesn’t have a buyout because Aggie let go of all leverage in the deal because they locked in on him completely

That's the school's buyout, not the coach's buyout, goober.

Oh! we might melt harder... 12.5 man for Jimbo!? He is not worth it. We can do better for that kind of money.

That’s not what he means.

Jimbo is guaranteed $95 million right now. Unless LSU is willing to guarantee him $100 million or more Jimbo takes a pay cut to leave.

The per year salary is affordable to LSU, but the overall guaranteed amount isn’t.

And before any of y’all type “he would take a pay cut to come to LSU” just slap yourself and save us the trouble.

I mean consider this:

We haven’t even seen Elko’s contract. We know it’s big, but we don’t know the buyout. Odds Woody gave him no buyout? Very high. We gonna get Jimbo and Elko, potentially bring Brady back to modernize that offense, then bring all their top recruits to wear purple and geauxld baws

This is assuming we want him
