Yes, and he will probably finish at worst 10-2 and win Big Ten Coach of the year. If they finish 11-1 he wins National Coach of the Year.
I wouldn't be surprised if they finish unranked.

Fun fact: Mel Tucker, a head coach with a record of 14-12, makes $5.5 million annually at Michigan State.
So LSU would wind up paying a .500 coach more than $6 million a year to coach here.
IKR. It's absurd the level people will go to defend this idea of this.
Surely LSU can do better.

Yeah I don't see Woodward settling on Tucker. May as well keep zero your already paying him and results would be the same
Tucker is a much, much better coach than o. He had top 5 defenses in the nfl multiple times. He flipped both colorado and michigan state quickly.

Dias says it is mostly likely going to be Tucker
and if he turns it down, then Napier is next offered.
thats a search on par with Joe Alleva

Tucker isn't in my top tier by any means. BUT the guy inherited a shite situation like 2-3 weeks before covid. We really can't ding him for last season considering he was damn near a stranger to his players by the time the big10 let them start their season. He's done a great job turning it around so far. I'd personally like a see another year or so of experience on his resume, but he's probably the one person that deserves a pass for last season.

Woodward must be tired of his job already.

You can shite on Tucker's resume, but every team he's been to gets better. He brings a culture of toughness wherever he goes. I think he'd do well here.

Some guy who has 300 followers on Twitter lol

If I was LSU I would wait and see until Mich State finishes the season. They haven't beaten and top program yet. Wait and see how MSU does against tougher oppenents

I'd certainly support him and LSU could use a guy bringing a culture of toughness. However, we have the resources and the prestige to make a world-class hire. Tucker would be a letdown.

Dias never said “he wouldn’t be surprised if it were Tomlin” In fact he said he sees very little chance it will be Tomlin. But after hearing some things recently he no longer thinks it is impossible. But very very unlikely.
Quit speaking in third person, Nick
I’m in New Iberia, BTW. Would you be interested in buying me lunch?

If we are going to pay $10m/yr, Tucker doesn't have a resume that deserves that. He's been a HC for about a year and a half and he could easily lose 3 of his next 5 games.
He could be a good guy, bring toughness, etc., but he could also be a guy that will never win more than 8 games in the SEC. There are guys out there, tougher to get, that can give you more.

No guarantee that we're paying $10M/y. TAMU thought Jimbo was going to be amazing and he'll probably go 9-3/8-4 this year.
BTW, I'm not stumping for Mel. I just hate this arrogance some LSU fans have toward him. Nick was Nick when we hired him. Jimbo had zero HC experience. Dabo wasn't Dabo. The only guy that had been proven when hired that I can think of is Urban.
