Nothing but the normal increase we see every few years.

Sounds good to me. IN general though I thought Saban only cared about money and Texas offered him 3 million more. Why is he not coaching at Texas?
I guess he didn't want to be Mack's Def Coordinator!

after reports surfaced in September that Texas regent Wallace Hall and former regent Tom Hicks had approached Saban's agent in January after Saban won his third national championship at Alabama - and his fourth overall, counting one at LSU - to gauge the coach's interest in leaving UA for Texas.
It never hurts to ask but Saban was never going.

I fail to see how this ends any speculation. He signed a contract extension in March that "secured him" through 2020. How does another extension signed just 9 month later end all speculation?
If Mack Brown retires in January couldn't this just come back again, and again, and again?
And if not, what was the point of this extension?

7 million/year is still too low for the greatest CFB coach in american history.
CBB = 6 NC, 11 SEC
CNS = 4 NC, 4 SEC
Math is hard.

25 max recruiting class, 85 scholarships vs. unlimited.
Math gets even trickier. The plot thickens.
It honestly is more competitive now to field a 10+ win team year in and year out, winning NC's and SEC championships.
That isn't to say that Bear isn't just as good as Saban, but honestly Saban will be just as decorated by the time he is done.

Bryant had 13 conference titles at Alabama.

Rising Tide rises all boats I guess.
Gus got paid. Others will get paid too. Sabans salary sets the high water mark. Hell, even Richt will probably get a raise.

Details leaking.. Saban to make over $7 million
So you think ticket prices remain the same?
I've had them for eight years, through the Saban hiring and every subsequent raise for him and his assistants. Prices and required donations have improved negligibly. My donation just went up $10 a seat one year ago...the first raise since I joined prior to Shula's last year. Ticket prices haven't gone up more than $10 in that time, either.

Oh, yeah...you want to see a real meltdown? Wait until Miles gets a mil raise out of all of this.

Texas doesn't have a job opening. If they did he would get 10 mil a year.
