Goes to show Tejas called and Nicky picked up the phone. I honestly believe that UT could have had him if they hadn't made this a complete farce of a public coaching search. Bama got hosed, but got their man.
As an Auburn I'm ecstatic, we just beat the 4 million Saban and the melt was glorious, can't wait for the $7.5 million implosion.

It's a lot of money and puts him higher than most NFL coaches but it's hard to argue with his skins on the wall. However, it will get real interesting if Nick doesn't win a championship in the next few years.

As a season ticket holder for 19 years at LSU, there's no way I would want to pay a coach that much right now. There's too much parity in the game now.
The head coach and 5* recruits don't make for a NC every year.
It'll be interesting to see what the potential recruits still undecided do now. For that kind of $, he should have the #1 class every year
