It definitely didn’t work out in the long run for Mason at Vandy but I can’t remember Vandy working out for anybody.
What I DO remember is a few years back Mason had those commodores playing with a lot of heart and as a team. Hopefully that was his doing and hopefully he brings that to our defense. Cause it was lacking big time early on this year.

Same guy that just lost his team because he allowed a girl to come kick and give speeches to his team while he had other viable (and better) options available? Yeah... hard pass

I don’t think I want mason at LSU but this is the dumbest possible reason to use.

Someone in another thread mentioned that rumor was the AD pushed it and Mason was fired after he opposed it. TIFWIW, but it didn’t seem like his style.

Whatever u say super insider, my info came from a personal friend who I played football with in high school and has coached in the NFL and colleg for years. Like I said we will see.

How is he a guru of a defensive coach? I know he was the HC but Vandy’s D ranked 121 out of 127 this year. How would a ‘guru’ let that happen? What am I missing?

He was highly regarded at Stanford. Won the top asst award in 2012. Top 20 defenses in 12 and 13. He bombed at Vandy. Head coaching may have been to much for him especially at a school like vandy.
