Ok show me where they were ranked in the top 15?

The internet, Rivals, etc weren't a thing in the early 90's, but I remember distinctly the media guides would publish the experts of the days rankings and quotes from them saying LSU would be competing for the SEC soon with the talent Hallman was bringing in.

Besides, do you think Dinardo came in and just won immediately with only the players he recruited? There was talent there.

Shows how dumb you really are you pick a player "as your lone example - LOL" that didn't have a career in the NFL instead of maybe Eddie Kennison.

David LaFluer was another but whether or not a guy played in the NFL has no impact on how they were thought of coming out of high school you numbskull

Draco seriously try this for once prior to typing, put mind in gear first!!! If you try that you might actually seem intelligent, of course, that is making a big assumption that you are intelligent after reading some of your posts.

but I remember distinctly

Yes, that is what we are all hanging hopes on your memory and your intelligence in analyzing recruiting. The facts are he didn't recruit well, look at his record as to how many players played in the NFL along with how many players received SEC and All-American honors that pretty much says it all.

So, to clarify, you're saying that how a player is developed during college plays no role in those things?

Fact is Coach O today is a better HC than CH was back then. Do you remember that Southern Miss game late in the year, sealing a 2-9 season for Curley? The past is the past, so why bring up Curley now? Wayyyy old news. Was CH better than J.Stovall? Mike Archer? What is the relevance ?

USM Was a very good team back in the 1980s, with Reggie Collier, Sam Dejarnette, Sammy Winder, & Ben Garry, Bibby Collins did not leave Curly Hillman an empty cupboard, Ed Orgeron followed David Cutcliffe and Eli was long gone by then

So, to clarify,

No what I am saying and have said repeatedly is that Curly Hallman didn't recruit well and didn't sign top recruiting classes as you tried "but failed miserably" to indicate because your MEMORY told you so.

Go look at the LSU media guide from those years. They printed the recruiting rankings from the experts of the time. It's not my fault the internet services didn't exist back then.

If a hc doesn't do X and O like Oeaux does but let assistants calling plays then we really don't need a hc, just make oc and dc as co-coaches or a coaching-by-committee of sort thus saving $3 mil annually for buyouts, upgrades, etc.

There ya go. The DC can call timeouts while in defense and the OC while on offense.

We can send peveto out there for the post game handshake.

Bert won 74% of his games and three straight conference championships at Wisconsin and he is a 500 coach at Arkansas with the conference record of Kentucky. Nothing is a guarantee.

*This is neither a slight or an endorsement of Coach O.
