Something happened at the press conference that struck me as odd. Miles' wife and kids were at the conference and he acknowledged them during the presser.

Were they attending to witness his last conference at Tiger Stadium?

I just thought it was interesting.

Personally, I like Miles but I despise his image as a buffoon which reflects on LSU. I also do not the sloppy play this year and last in spite of the record. I hope he stays and makes good choices about OL, OC and secondary coach.

i honestly don't think miles is happy here anymore. we don't really like him, and the expectations we have don't fit his

i think miles to colorado has more legs than a lot of rantards want to believe

he'll leave more money on teh table in 2011 and 2012, but he'll likely get more than $8M guaranteed from CU over teh course of his contract

Same

Don't think it would be enough to leave the money on the table unless it's for UM

i'm going to make this thread at some point, but i wonder what the implications are if we don't give miles that extra year

he's essentially a lame duck coach. no major coach goes into a season (2011) with only 1 more year left on his deal

I'm not so sure how good that would be for LSU if it happened this year. I don't even know who the hell we would go after.

Have you all not heard Miles talk about LSU. He absolutely loves it here, the only way he leaves is if he is fired.

The colorado shite ended when he found out what his assistant coach budget would be there. Not happening.

I don't think Miles is leaving. Hell, I think he retires or gets fired from here, he won't leave on his own will. I cannot stand his on the field mental breakdown and his irrational play calling but if he allowed some good young coaches to come in and take complete control of the offense and defense we could destroy the rest of the SEC. He easily runs one of the best programs off the field in the country. We don't have many grade issues, character issues, or any other off the field antics. His players love him, he's raising money, and hes getting LSU to major bowl payouts.

his kids used to play football on saturdays and his wife was usually there. i assume they don't get to make many games so he acknowledged them being able to make it. i would guess they still do but i don't have any kids on the broncos anymore.

They also cant host full recruiting visits there, only 24 hrs instead of 48. They're screwing themselves with that rule.

If you talk to people in the locker room, this team more than ANY other CLM LSU club is as tight as a family. This includes Miles' wife and children. More than likely, they were there as part of the Sr. day celebration and post game ceremonies. Ask a few people what went on after the Alabama game in the locker room, specifically the comments Kelvin #11 and others made. From what I understand there was not a dry eye in the room, players and coaches included.

Listen to CLM's comments as this run was starting early in the season. He is constantly stating there was something truly special building and coming together in the locker room, and how this was one of the best "TEAMS" he has ever been associated with as a coach or player.

He may be eccentric, but he LOVES this game, this atmosphere, and LSU.

so anyone that thinks miles wouldn't take a 60% paycut to do bill McCartney a favor is a ranter?

I honestly don't think miles gives a frick if he's liked or not.

He also declared that the clock management problems would be fixed, we would see a better offense in 2010, and the passing game would improve. He doesn't seem to carry a lot of credibility anymore.
