Dude got Washington into the playoffs. He would kill at LSU. Wouldn’t even be fair really.

Agreed.

I've wanted the pick to be Aranda since before O ever even got the interim gig...

But if I even remotely felt like Petersen would come back to coaching, he'd be my favorite easily. Dude is a monster of a coach. He's that rare breed that's just born to win.

Chris PETERSEN could very easily be Woodward's White Whale

I wouldn’t want a coach that’s been out of coaching bc he wouldn’t have any type of relationship with current recruits and that would really hurt a recruiting class that’s going to be tough to save as it is.

If we hire a current coach, they’ll at least have a relationship with recruits even if they were attempting to bring them to a different school the previous couple of years.

Petersen was the coach at Washington 13 games ago.

If it is Pete, a Monday announcement is feasible.

And he hasn’t been recruiting since then.

Even if they brought him in the week after O was canned he’d still be playing catch up.

The other coaches on our list have a relationship with tons of current recruits and the only change would be the school. Changing schools could actually get them back in with some players that weren’t interested in the coaches previous school.

I’d much rather have a coach that is currently recruiting over one that’s been hanging out with family the past year.

Think about it. There hasn’t been an announcement because the current target is actively coaching a program. If it were Petersen, we would already know and he’d be wearing purple and gold.

I agree as well. Although I will say Petersen would absolutely kill it here. Riley, Petersen. And Aranda. Either of these 3 and lsu football is back in full effect.

LSU recruits itself and this year is of course loaded with homegrown future superstars, ripe for the Purple and Gold's picking, regardless, mostly, of who finally shows up for the keys. Woodward, Ed, Austin and Mason have been basically keeping the local kids on a leash as all the contract stuff works itself out. These things do not happen on fan timing; they happen on multi-million-dollar-people-setting-up-a-program-for-a-decade timing.

Come Monday...it'll be alright...whichever way it goes.

That's a good point too. And of course he has no connections in Louisiana whatsoever.

No it wouldn't. We have a coach until the season is over.
