This is a very interesting development.

Baalke can pick players, and Chip Kelly can coach. As long as both men stay in their respective roles, that could be a very successful partnership.

I'm pumped.

However, I'm also of the minority opinion that this ends up with CK7 being traded and Gabbert extended on a cheap contract.

Gabbert can run too, and last year he was way more confident and decisive than Kaepernick.

From the Niner's perspective, you fight cancer with cancer.

I'm kind of excited about the hire especially with him not having any personnel control.

They won't be good again until they get rid of Trent Balke

Chip Kelly will fight for more control and it'll go down in flames like it did with Harbaugh. Balke is too egotistical and not a good GM to make up for it.

If Harbaugh's weird personality was too much for Baalke and York, wait til they meet Chip.

This will set the 49ers back years when Kelly gets fired in 3 years. How this guy gets another job in the NFL after virtually decimating the Eagles roster for borderline nursing home talent is beyond me. He will ruin this franchise more than it already is if you can believe that.
