I’m told the Chicago #Bears are expected to have interest in #Commanders assistant head coach/ offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, among others, with general knowledge that current HC Matt Eberflus is under evaluation with the team at 4-8, per source.

Howell does not suck. His oline blows and he’s still putting up numbers. His weapons are just ok outside of Scary Terry. The Dolphins were laughing about how easy they were to scheme for.

I can't say how good or bad of an OC he is but honestly Washington has almost no real offensive threats on their team for him to work with and Howell at least seems to be improving to some extent. I don't think he's a franchise QB but he has improved.

Isn't he considered to be a jackass? I thought that's what kept him out of HC jobs so far? IIRC there was talk about him going to CU at one point, but he'd burned so many bridges there that it was a non-starter.

The Bears have consciously tried to hire boring yes-men since they fired Ditka. Most of their coaches over the last three decades have been like corpses in front of the media.
It has also been reported locally that team president Kevin Warren and Harbaugh don't like each other from when Warren was B1G commissioner.
That said, the Bears might be desperate enough to overlook all of that. One of the last things George Halas did was take a chance on Ditka. Maybe Virginia McCaskey tells the front office to suck it up and get Harbaugh.
