Great pedigree as a defensive coach. My questions about him are:
1. Hasn't been a DC in 12 years. Does he have a system for stopping modern offenses?
2. He's 60 years old. Will he have the desire and the energy to be an effective recruiter at that age?

Does your ignorance come natural or do you have to work at it? Either way, bravo, sir. You are at the top of the “stupid” list.

Assuming that DC Charlie Strong didn't turn into DC Bo Pellini, I have no problems with Strong. He's always been an excellent recruiter. His defenses have always been tough and carried an agressive, attacking mentality. I wish I could speak more intelligently to his play-calling and adjustments, but him not being a good HC at UT has nothing to do with his abilities as a DC at LSU.
99 out of 100 HCs wouldn't be successful in that dumpster fire in Austin...

Amen! I hope he's hiring them based on hair color and shoe size this year.

Nobody hired Strong bc he was black. He was a hot candidate bc he was good at his job until Texas. And O hired Pelini and Linehan and let’s look at how that turned out. I don’t care what the skin color is of whoever he hires, I want the best candidate. And these old farts likely aren’t the best candidates

He was fired as HC at Texas and USF
Please stop judging coordinators based on this.
Dave Aranda had a tough season at Baylor and if he doesn’t turn it around could be fired in a year or 2. Is he all of a sudden a bad DC?
This continues to be the most ignorant take when talking about potential hires.

The guy is awful, hell no.

Sounds like O's kind of guy.

Wrong board, but whatever. I voted for Trump twice and your comment doesn’t make sense. This is what you replied to:

This post says a lot about who you are... but carry on.
Not sure how that implies any subtle racism.

I don’t want retread coaches who failed miserably at high profile pressure type jobs like LSU is
so you saying we need a guy with a couple Natties as a DC in the SEC instead?

Charlie had some badass defenses at Florida. Would be a great hire.

If he was good enough to be a DC under Urban, he's good enough for me.

I honestly can’t tell if this is a troll or not.

I think that Strong was on Scott’s list of potential coaches, not stated that he was on Ed’s list.

Fans are so fickle.
When was he last a badass DC though?
My whole thing is I prefer a currently successful DC. It's why I never liked the Pelini hire.
Not a failed HC who was a good DC several years ago. It's been like 10 years..
Perhaps I am wrong here, but that's typically my belief. Regardless who it is.
