Taking the ULL job would be like cutting off his own nose to spite his face.

Honestly, I'd be totally cool with Air Canada going to ULL and LSU hiring Hugh Freeze as offensive coordinator, especially if Shae Patterson gets permission to transfer here without having to sit out a year.

Hugh Freeze is not coming here. LSU fans are delusional as shite if they think it’s a good idea to bring in the guy that just got Ole Miss hammered.

Agreed. I just said it would be cool.

Maybe if Sumlin can't get a head coaching job...

No doubt. This shite needs to go away. How you gonna put Hugh Freeze on a parent’s couch and expect them to take him and ultimately, LSU, seriously?

I'm mostly laughing about posting in a thread titled "Canada wants ULL head job", yet the only thing contained within is that ULL has decided they would have interest in his services

May I recommend the thread entitled "The Case for Kevin Sumlin" on the Cajun board.
Exciting time for fans...just easy to get carried away.

Might really mean ol Hugh might be coming.

I highly doubt Freeze goes anywhere, hiring a coach with a fresh show-cause would be a bit distastefull to most AD's, not to mention causing the NCAA to set up a satelite camp just off campus, no one wants that.

But Freeze didn't get a show cause, so you're just talking out your backside?

Great. You can work Google. Now, can you actually read any of the links there? Several assistants got show cause. Not Freeze.

Edit...sorry I'm being a smartass. Freeze didn't get a show cause. He got a 2 game suspension only if he's a head coach in the SEC next season. The suspension expires on November 30, 2018. So he can get a head coaching job after next year with absolutely no restrictions. Also, there are no restrictions on him being an assistant coach at all.

Several (five I think) of his assistants were hit with show cause.

Crazy that he got such a light slap on the wrist. It makes me think he was in the dark about the violations.

As long as ole Hugh Freeze can bring in exactly the offense he had at Ole Miss that kicked Bama's arse.

Argue with the links you supposedly read not me silly, either way he is toxic.

quote:

Former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze received a one-year show cause and two-game suspension from the NCAA, but only for head coaching positions. If he takes a coordinator or assistant’s job, there would be no restrictions.

quote:

The biggest name involved might also have the most intersting penalty. Hugh Freeze was given a two-game suspension, and a one-year show cause penalty, but only as a head coach.

Show cause is erroneous and is literally corrected inside the same article you just pasted from.

To clarify earlier report on Hugh Freeze: Not a show cause, it's a one-year head coach restriction. He faces a two-game suspension if he's a head coach next season, but not if he's a coordinator or assistant coach

Can anyone blame him for wanting out? He had trouble running his offense because of the ogre shrimp boat captain HC. Who, was actually hired on the pretense that he would stay out of the offense. In turn, that attracted Canada here (and money) bc he was going to be able to command his ship on the offensive side of the ball, working with LSU's great athletes.

Then, game time comes and yaw yaw can't keep his fingers out the jar for the first 4 or 5 games and it clearly showed.

We're going to be young at key positions on offense next year and we'll need someone creative like Canada, but I don't think he wants to remain under O, unless he has to.

Good post.

I actually think Canada would do well in Lafayette.

UL may be the beneficiary of Orgeron’s frick up.

Not if job 4 is a HC job. Probably not otherwise if he moving to perceived better jobs and perceived to do a good job. If he leaves LSU to go to a lower or even parallel job as an OC unless it's an OC/HC in waiting, that will probably give people pause. Unfortunately for him, very few coordinator jobs would be perceived as better than LSU.

I would take Kendal Briles over Hugh Freeze. A lot of what FAU ran this season was Briles' offense, and it was fun to watch. Also, Briles would make a great head coach in waiting. Briles runs a run-heavy spread-option that would make for an easier transition from what Canada runs compared to the type of spread that Freeze runs.
