Can you hate him because of his previous attitude/cockiness sure. However the narrative of him being a failure as a head coach is blatantly false.
None of that changes the fact that Kiffin has never been a great head coach. You wouldn't have hired Kiffin after his USC run, so why now? It's not like McElwain and Smart didn't just get their asses handed to them, so why is Kiffin suddenly going to be great on his own?

Kiffin is unproven and at worst arguably been bad as a head coach.
LSU is good enough to get someone proven. We don't need to take chances.

Look man Kiffin will get another opportunity. He has done good under Saban. Emphasis "under Saban" for past 3 years. This isn't a time to be running an experiment to see if Kiffin is still an arse hat. There are a number of outstanding coaches we can hire.

WHILE UNDER SANCTIONS they seemed to sing a full class every year but 2012.

Not really.
Just like the USC interim gig proved nothing.
Interim coaches take over a system already in place. They take over players and coaches already in place.
That's not "their" team at all. We know when Ed O gets control over a program he goes 3-21 in the SEC.

But can you trust him not to leave us high and dry like he did Tennessee? What if an NFL team comes knocking for him? Does he stiff us after 1 year?

I don't think he sucks but I do think LSU can do better. I would like to see him succeed a mid level P5 program (a UNC perhaps if Fedora leaves) before wanting him at a major program

Kiffin does not suck as an OC/QB Coach/playcaller but he's not going to get gift wrapped a fricking job like LSU. Not sure how you people can't comprehend this.

Of course hes not the number 1 choice. However he has a FAR better track record than Coach O and some of the others mentioned.
