I agree with you, but Kansas' standards since Mangino have been lower than any program in football (maybe except for Rutgers)

It will be nice to see them be competitive again soon

Ill even go as far as to say he wont even come close to mark manginos overall record. (50-48) because one year les has to win 12 games and theirs no way he sniffs 9 much less 12..id bet on it too

That’s LSU athletic departments logic.

Success at Kansas would be making a bowl once every 3 years.

Are you familiar with the history of Oklahoma State football? Their all-time record was still below .500 when Les left. 28-21 sure as hell wasn't "extremely mediocre" for them.

Hopefully he’ll field the only real defense in the Big 12

Wow

Oklahoma st had 1 winning season in 13 years before les arrived

Les then gave them 3 winning seasons in 4 years

He will turn Kansas around into a competitive inspired team

I laugh when people think that all coaching records should be judged equally

Mile is very avg. His best might get them to 6-6. plus or minus 2.

However, I don't think he will make it out of his 1st contract.

Les hired Chip Lindsay as OC who was just run out of Auburn after an uninspiring year.

Les hired DJ Eliot as DC who was just let go in the carnage of colorado’s season. Before Colorado, he was at Kentucky where he was relieved of play calling by Stoops.

From the Courier Journal:
quote:

Eliot followed Stoops to Lexington from Florida State as the first-time head coach’s defensive coordinator in 2014. He has served in that role since, though Stoops took over the defensive play calling after UK surrendered 1,084 yards in an 0-2 start to the 2016 season.

Maybe we should gently apply some cooling water to the notion that these were awesome home run hires.

The word Kansas in the thread title is that cooling water.

So getting them to their best win total in over a decade is "very average"?

Do you actually read what you type?

I guess if you call 4-6 wins competitive. By definition, 6-6 is avg in a 12 game season.
