The rumor is Sumlin has a drinking problem and has let it affect his job. He also badly handled the QB situation obviously.

OK. He left because LSU would not guarantee his contract for multi-years. So if Miles got fired after 2015 - he almost did - Chavis' contract could be terminated.
Presumably he got a guaranteed contract at A&M. If so, Chavis is sitting pretty right now.
Do you still want to laugh at Chavis? The recent goings-on in Baton Rouge and College Station vindicate his decisions.

Wonder if Joe Shad mistakenly took an A&M booster saying the "decision was made in the third quarter" for an LSU booster. Would make a hell of a lot more sense.

Kevin Sumlin is a fine coach, and has succeed everywhere he's been. Their tailspin in the second half of this year was no more his fault than LSU's subpar play late was Miles' doing. But I'm still learning the subtleties of the game........I'm still of the mindset that in a just world, LSU football would wear purple jerseys for all their home games.
