when does practice for the bowl game begin?
I seem to remember hearing the 14th or 15th. Might be wrong though.

quote:Those potential coaches are currently still coaching bowls, they don't want to abandon their current team, Miles hasn't found one yet in time to have them implement their scheme and win the bowl game, any number of reasons.
If this happened, what would be the rationale, assuming Malveto isn't kept around for bonus reasons?

Didn't Tennessee have an offer on O's desk within 20 hours or so of Kiffen getting announced?
mabye
then again i dont believe everything the paper or recruiting sites write.
even if he did, that just goes to show how long the process can take and how cluttered it can get

like i said last week, hiring a coach(coaches) doesnt happen over night. Gotta give it time. There is a lot of shite to work out and its a long process.
I don't know. Some teams (UT) have already hoired a head coach.
The contracts are boilerplate.
It's not rocket science.
Everyone knows the names. The defensive rankings etc.

kind of interested to see what exactly happened with Koenning. Sonny seemed extremely confident he was a done deal and now seems to be pretty damn shocked he's headed to KSU

Unless the candidates are coaching for a shot at the title, there is no reason for them to stay without at least announcing they are leaving before the game (i.e. Pellini last year)

I'm not sure which days they would have off, so I assume they take 1 day a week off..... if they hired a guy TODAY, that would give him 12 days to implement, teach, and game plan for a GT that takes teaching assignments and lanes vs. a option attack.
Can we agree that it takes more to scheme against an option attack than it does a more pro style offense?
Look, I'm not taking up for the two knuckleheads that are Co-DC. All I'm saying is that I would rather make SURE the right guy is hired than to just pick up someone so they could have them before the bowl game.

the point being installing part of the defense for NEXT YEAR. Who gives a frick about the chikfila bowl? This team quit a month ago anyway.

Even if the newly hired DC didn't want to coach in the peach bowl, they should at least announce it and let him finish up his business where he is before taking the job.

If in fact Les Miles does eventually hire a new DC for next season, I certainly hope that corrects all the problems concerning the lack of effort, mental mistakes, and team unity...All of which, and including lack of coaching and poor leadership from Les Miles happened this season.

You might have an argument if in fact Miles has found the guy he wants to basically stake his LSU career on

I don't see how being indecisive is going to help the quality of his hire. There are more benefits announcing the decision early than waiting too late like he did last season.
