well, I think O implied that he would get the best OC "available"...the list of realistically available OC's will probably shrink very soon.

Yea, I agree. And I'm thinking they were banking on Kiffin. Although I think Applewhite would be a good hire, it's not what was promised and I think people have a right to be disappointed.

I believe O said we'd have the best coaching staff in America.

He more than most needs a without a doubt homerun hire or as close as nearly possible. Major isn't that.

From what I'm hearing, I expect Lane Kiffin to ultimately get the Houston job.

of course, this may be a ploy to get UT to pony up more money for him to come to Texas.

That backfired on Herman. Had an agreement with lsu weeks ago. backed out to get more money. We know the story ends.

Applewhite doesn't fit coaching changes criteria. He wants to be head coach. We cant hire a coordinator that wants to be a head coach. Lmao

he helped O assemble his master plan

that has a direct relationship to the product on the field (assuming its followed)

I just don't think it would be good for Orgeron to have his former boss working for him, esp one with such low standards of ethics.

So you are saying that UH should hire Kiffin as a HC but LSU should not because he has a low standard of ethics... Welcome to TD where nobody ever changes or learns from his past.

The guy just spent 3 yrs in reform school. He wont get too many more chances to redeem himself.

He kept a piece, as did at least 1 other initial investor in 247. They sold Rivals for $100M and within a couple of months of the non-complete expiring started 247.

Not sure how much they sold to CBS for, but feel fairly sure they kept approximately 20%. Also, they fought for the individual publishers of each affiliate site to maintain their current level of local ownership.
