If his buyout is really the full payout, I find it hard to believe this is our guy ... unless he has an LSU clause in there.

Truly a bonehead play letting this guy go 2 years ago.

Do we really want a FB coach who just listens to his wife? LOL

y'all have to stop thinking a couple million has any bearing on a position as important as DC

If he's the guy, $2-3m is a great investment.

This has got to all be a bit awkward for Brian Kelly right? I don’t see how administration lets this be the move.

“Hey Blake, sorry I canned your arse immediately when I got here cuz I thought I was overhauling to put my name on it and I hired someone else and made them the most expensive DC in the country. Well turns out not even 2 seasons later we don’t like that guy anymore. So we’re firing him and paying him $4m to go away, and we want you back as a DC and we’ll pay you a bunch of money to come back (even though you were already here and I fired you) and not only that but we’ll pay your $1m+ buyout at the school you’re currently at because we dumped you....“

Not awkward at all.

Baker was our LB coach, not our DC.
The guy we brought in, House, had past experience as a DC, and LBs was his position specialty. Letting Baker go at that time was an understandable business decision.

Baker has now proven he can be a DC, has familiarity with the program and some of the personnel, and we no longer have either a DC or a LB coach on staff.

Ok. Keep repeating it over and over again so you’ll start really believing it. Haha. There are many variables why he would make the decision to come back. The wife is only one of them though it is a big one.
Hilarious that you want to act like LSU isn’t bigger and better job than Miz. One good season and you’re acting like they’ve been good at football perennially or something. Get ahold of yourself, chili pepper!

I promise you his buyout is < 500k. Brian Kelly's buyout is $2 million on a $100 million contract.
