Not a big UL fan, but he’s making chicken salad out of chicken shite over here. A Saban disciple. I think he gets some play. If he waits another year, he may have a window for a big time job. It would be the first time EVER that a Cajun head coach left for a BETTER job.

Napier is definitely underrated, he has the chance for a 10 win season at fricking ULL.

Very detailed oriented coach. Not sure about his recruiting (just don’t know either way) but the guy can run a program, prepare a team to play and make adjustments during the game. I am not a USL fan but have enjoyed watching them three times this year simply because they are extremely well prepared to play. Assuming he can recruit, he would be dangerous at a place like Auburn or FSU

This guy may be a great coach. He looks it, so far He also probably needs a couple of more years at ULL to work on some things, gain experience, etc. I say that not because of anything specific, but because he's only coached for 2 years
Still, these guys don't come along too often and if I were AD at Ark or Miss State, I would take a chance on him and his crazy high ceiling. He'll probably make a lot of goofs his first year or 2, but it will probably pay off.

He hasn't had any wins that turn heads; but he has beaten several solid sunbelt/MAC minor-bowl teams. i.e. he hasn't feasted on the bottom 15
If they cajuns can keep him for another year or 2, he might bring them that elusive big win.

Yep. Dude can flat out recruit. I think he keeps it going next year and gets the call up then.

Depending on what we do with Moorhead I know he is going to be around the top of our list if we are looking. Having played them game 1 his team was impressive.

He won't be leaving for another job. Are you going to fire him?

Frack you for starting this thread.

But in all honesty, I do hope he’s gone to a P5 Head coaching job after next year, or the year after, because it’ll mean he did great things here at UL. It would also mean we can possibly show that the program can be a way for young, hungry coaches to move up.

I thought he was Rutgers' leading candidate? You may not have the chance to "do something" with him. Your AD is a douche on so many levels, I'm not surprised Joe might want to get out.

He was on Dabo's staff too as was Morris so that may put the qui-e-tus (kill shot) on that idea.

This.

Everything said above about Napier is accurate. Detail oriented with a high ceiling. Worked under Dabo and Saban. Saban actually recommended Napier for the Cajun job to Maggard.

Hopefully this will be delayed until next offseason.

He took them from near the bottom of the Sunbelt in recruiting to the top. Overnight.

What’s his salary? Is he in the 1.5 million range? Any buyout?
