I'd take either of them, but I'd rather have Cal today. I was getting soured on Muss. Every year his teams would have a big problem and he'd wait until the end of the season to fix it, if it got fixed at all. I'm also not a fan of pro coaching in the college game, because college teams need more ref...

Some coaches are great in the regular season and some are great in the tourney. Although the latter is considered the greater accomplishment, the former does more for prestige and recognition.
It was nice having good tournament runs under Muss, but the regular season sucked and were irritating. ...

I don't know how it compares today, because I don't keep up with other conferences that much, anymore. When we joined 30 years ago, the SWC was 2-3 tough games and several walkovers. The SEC wasn't as good as today, but there would still only be 1-2 walkover games.
Arkansas earned it's living ups...

On top of that, the SEC was better than it's ever been.
80's - SEC teams were rarely a serious national title contender.
90's - You had Florida, Alabama and Tennessee.
00's - Add LSU and Auburn, ...

A Nelson and Brazile frontcourt would be deadly and almost guarantee a Final Four appearance. Maybe a national championship.
Nelson would learn to play alongside another good big guy, which would be valuable for the NBA, and the success Arkansas could have with Nelson could help him tremendous...

Bottomline is that this team overachieved all year. Won the SEC despite having less talent.
I'm proud of them....
