You Gumps are a joke. My neighbor is the son of a big UT booster. Saban's name comes up every day. You guys are dumber than I thought if you don't think that Sexton has already engaged someone within the UT family. UT will obviously pursue Saban...and these Gumps all know it. Why wouldn't they? He is the best! As far as Bama competing with UT in a bidding war...that right there is a friggin joke! UT will take what they want. Tuscalooser business men asking Saban what he needs....ha ha ha. Tuscalooser alumni deal in 2 comma's...UT (Austin)alumni deal in 3 commas. Hell Michael Dell could smoke all comers from Tuscalooser by himself. Your attempts to flame are comical. Miles isn't going anywhere but Saban might be.

Neither of which are better programs. Alabama is arguably the best. Texas and Florida don't even make that conversation.

Bama fans are so full of themselves its really amazing.

Bama's a great job, there are several other's in college just as good.

A couple are on Alabama's level. Southern Cal, Notre Dame.

That's the list. We're just arguably the best program in the history of the game. So sorry if we know it.

You know it too

Same thing with saban.

he point being, there are about 7-10 jobs in college football that have negligible differences. Southern Cal, Texas, and Florida will offer more inherent recruiting advantages. Texas will offer more money. Places like Alabama, Notre Dame, and Michigan will offer more history. But any of these jobs can be argued to be a top job

Exactly, but I never hear fans of those teams or not nearly as many as Bama fans saying there is no better job or stuff like I quoted or the comment on the bottom of page 1.

Maybe many of you are rational people, but there are plenty of guys like llfshoals that are insufferably arrogant. Its like fricking Cowboy fans

Yes. Let's just say Texas makes him an offer for 10 million. And Saban was seriously considering it. Honestly, how long did is take for a few Tuscaloosa businessmen to say "Coach, is there something you need here?"

Does NOT surprise me at all what goes on illegally in Alabama when it comes to football. I bet if the truth came out, the NCAA would be forced to wreck both Ala and AU. Don't want to say it doesn't go to other schools but you guys sell your souls to the devil for winning.

Someone want to tell what makes FL so much better than LSU? And some of you fricking gumps are absolutely brain dead/major trolls, not sure which. Only job I can see that is better than LSU would be TX. shite Bama has to compete with AU for recruits and FL has two in state schools to compete with. And as far as $ goes, there is a lot of hidden $ at LSU. Couldn't compete with TX but diff with FL and come pretty damn close to Bama.

It's not illegal to give a coach a payraise or hook him up with endorsement deals.

It's called confidence. Alabama isn't just the best program in the best conference. It would take another team (Tennessee) winning the conference 10 years in a row to surpass us. Hell your program only has half as many. Hell combine the rest of the entire West Division's totals of SEC titles and you barely outnumber Alabama's.

You call it bragging, well son it ain't bragging if you can do it, it's called stating a fact then. Fact is Alabama's arguably the best program in the history of the game, you don't see Texas or Florida at the top of lists like this.

Yes Bear Bryant is dead, and we're still winning conference and national titles. We were winning them before he got there too. We've won our division (not this year of course) more than anyone else in the West too, so your "that was then" mentality fails there too.

We may win another national title this year, and wouldn't that just be turrible.

better programs in overall history? no, bama has more history

better jobs than bama? most definitely

FWIW Florida is clearly a better program than Bama for at least the last two decades

Yes Florida has been the best program in the SEC in the last 20 years, they're the only team to play in the SECCG more than Bama.

Football didn't start 20 years ago did it?

I've always said there's 3 relevant times to judge a college football program by.

This year
From the last major break point in their history (conference change, things like that)
Their entire history

This year - Bama might be #1 again, we'll see Jan 9th

Last break point - since the creation of the SECCG - 2 NC, not too shabby. With a 3rd we'd tie Florida and Nebraska for the most. Gee that looks pretty good.

Entire history. Well as the link I provided for college football data warehouse's ratings index showed who's the best?

For some reason, I think he WAS going to Michigan until Herbstreit leaked it. Miles was not about to be shown up by some punk "pretty boy" from ESPN, so he stayed to spite him.

You bama fans have such a terribly hard time with this. It really isn't complicated at all though.

Historical success doesn't not equal how good of a job a program is today. I think we need a 12 step program for you Gumps on the subject... maybe 18 given the average Gump's propensity for exaggeration and myopia. Just breathe and repeat after me: "Yes, it is ok to admit there are better college football jobs than Alabama"

I await the inevitable replies that dodge this simple point or try and otherwise confuse the issue.

$10,000,000.00 a year?

Damn, if Bama is willing to pay that kind of money then screw Nick Saban.

They should offer that kind of $$ to the best NFL coach in the country and bring him and his staff to T'Town right NOW.

I do believe there is another program that can also win a 3rd in that time frame.

It's a shame, for Bama, that the game results haven't followed your thought process, huh.

Since 2000:

LSU 9 wins and Bama 3 wins

If you haven't noticed, the relevant tide has gone out for you guys vs LSU.
