I've only read the OP, but the fact that this thread has gone three pages is mind-boggling...

It's perception, I assume. I didn't think the 4 million Alabama gave Saban in 2007 was crazy, but the national media did. That was only one million more than the highest in 2006. I can only imagine what doubling the highest would do, at least in the national media's mind.

I can say with surety that Saban will never be the coach at UT. Peterson, on the other hand.....

yeah if there's one thing college football has shown us this year its all about fairness

foolish
if they can afford $10 million and want to spend $10 million they should. If Saban is that good the program will make many many times that

I'm not sure why it's mind-boggling to you. The OP mentioned there was no way Saban was leaving BAMA, and it said that Texas could possibly go after Les Miles. You should have known the thread would get flooded with rantards.

why do you care? edited because you said the media minded not you sorry

at this point who cares if its 6 or 7 or 10?
the media?
you mean to tell me Saban has not made up his salary and then some for the athletic department?

if that kind of investment pays that kind of dividends, $10 million is a steal

That is a very astute point. I guess I just can't get my brain into the ranter mindset.

I have to deduct 60 points from my I.Q. score before I can post here every day.

What would you expect a guest on a talk show that originates from AL to say? He doesn't want to incite Harvey Updyke or some other lunatic to hunt him down.
