His personality is what might hurt him with college kids though. He's certainly not the most personable guy.
similar to Saban, no?

managing a cfb roster is probably 10x harder than NFL lol.

Depends on what you find to be the hard part

For cfb, continuity is certainly much harder to obtain.

But on the flip side, NIL chaos makes it way more direct to solve talent issues on the roster via the portal rather than 90 percent of the available talented players being locked under a secure contract for years to come. When you draft/sign bad players in the NFL, it’s an increasingly harder hill to climb, because there are no quick routes out of it without sheer draft luck

But with all that said, this all comes off as a way too obvious smoke screen for both UNC to look like a high level job and for BB to seem like he’s got a more youthful energy and commitment to rebuilding a program to signal to NFL owners that he’s still got his fast ball.

I give him kudos for transparency. If the school doesn’t want to let him do it his way, better to know now.
What I don’t get is why he wants to coach college. He is really close to having the most all time wins for an NFL coach. Even if you don’t compete for a championship w another NFL team, if he coaches 2-3 years he will be the all time winningest coach in NFL history. That is an amazing record to go for.
If he takes a college job, I can’t see him going back to NFL.

Saban has more of a personality than does hoodie. And he softened as he got older.

That is going to be a horrific fit. There’s no way Belichick has the patience to deal with college kids, NIL and the portal

He will use portal and nil heavily I bet. The guy knows how to manage a roster better than 95% of current college coaches I bet. College Football is basically NFL Lite at this point and only going to trend more that way.

Yep

Has almost as much experience as anyone else in this new era. NC is a wealthy school. If they're willing to invest $$$ in NIL, then I would expect NC to start improving their talent.

This tweet is a leverage ploy by Bill's agent. Put it out there that Bill will accept the job if UNC meets his exorbitant demands ALL in the hopes this will work the fanbase (who won't have to fund the demands) into a frenzy and put pressure on the AD to pay the ransom.

Now that is funny.

This makes zero sense

I could easily see this as a two year deal to set up the organizational needs to become successful.

Or this could be one hell of a dumpster to watch burn.

Bad hire. He's old and will hate recruiting. 2 years tops.
Is recruiting really what it used to be? Players want to play for Deion who hasn’t won shite as a coach. You don’t think they’ll want to play for Bellichek who is multiple Super Bowl winning coach with reach in the NFL where all these players want to end up? Bellichek will have his pick of coaches to make up his staff.

Bill wants full control. What GM is going to hire him and give up personnel decisions?

I think this could work. They are going to run this like an NFL organization. Bring in a GM to handle NIL and personnel. Bill gets to X&O jimmy and Joe’s. If this works out it could be a model going forward.

One thing is for sure he isn’t going to put up with a bunch of bullshite.

He isn’t gonna recruit, they are gonna pay.

That’s mostly what it becomes now.

To everyone saying he can't recruit - one of his demands including having a roster management staff, which would also include a current GM of a college program, which would require buying out his contract. Curious to see what team he is planning on poaching.
