Arnett prefers a 3-man front, Coach o wants a 4-3.

Coach O seems pretty adamant about running a 4-3 base scheme, but Arnett ran a 3-3-5 at MSST. Do you think:
1. Arnett would change his D to a 4-man front?
2. Coach O will allow him to run what he wants?

I think you have to be multiple in the era of football, so if O wants a strict 4-3, he isn't going to be the HC for much longer.

The 3-3-5 can shift to a 4 man front easily, but you wouldn’t have a traditional DE on the shift side.

Coach O didn’t seem adamant on being strictly a 4-3 Defense in today’s call. He stressed the importance of being able to do both 4 and 3 lineman formations.

He’s walked that back. The best DC’s will show multiple things. Really depends on the players they have.

Literally said today that our defense needs a multiple front with both 3-4 and 4-3.
So Coach Orgeron, in his own words...today...says otherwise.

I agree, but isn't the difference being the base set. 4 man or 3 man? that was a big point of animosity between O and Aranda.

I like this answer and agree. I just know that he always complained about Aranda's 3-man front and hired Pelini specifically because he runs a 4-3.
