I honestly didn’t think they were ranked this high. They gave up so much yardage, I just assumed their scoring rank was trash.

I’m not advocating the hire but this is what I know because we both have a mutual buddy. Hammond isn’t all that big. The story I hear is Pete Golding hates Nick Saban. Like really hates him. This is probably Pete’s last game at Alabama. Golding won’t take a Layne Kiffen arse chewing with grace and doesn’t mind telling Saban to go frick himself when Saban gets salty on him. He’s not a popular guy on here or with Alabama fans but I think he has a pretty sharp young defensive mind or he wouldn’t be Alabama’s DC. Saban would have fired him last year if he was a terrible coach. It wasn’t his fault last year pretty much every Alabama linebacker got injured. To me as fast as Alabama scores his defense has done okay outside of that Ole Miss game this year. I know Golding grew up a LSU fan. Not sure why he catches so much heat other than Alabama fans hate their coaches like LSU fans hate their coaches.
