He has has 1 horrible year (2018) in his 17 years as a HC. They could probably get him for a good price right now.

I thought it was interesting they didn’t promote him to interim considering his experience.

We offered it to him, but the contract included a no coeds policy, so he declined.

If you don’t want him for the long term promoting him to interim is a big PR and morale risk.

If he rallies the team and they look great and win out then it's difficult to not give him a long term shot.

Easier for the AD to just not have the situation in the first place

If you're trying to rally a locker room for the last 2 games of a season, you don't pick the despicable, low-character guy everyone fricking hates personally to do it.

No man, not a chance. Don't get me wrong, as an LSU fan, I'd LOVE to see it, but it won't happen.

Had they done so and beat LSU convincingly again like last year they probably didn't want the headache of a segment of the fanbase embracing the idea of giving him the job full time.

I don't see any P5 team touching Petrino as HC again. Burnt too many bridges. He'll go back to G5 or FCS.

It speaks volumes for all the success he had in both stints in Louisville that they dropped him like a brick the first bad year he ever had there (I understand it was beyond terrible) but basically making their football program in the modern era bought him 0 good grace to offset how toxic he is.

I'm sure there was much more to it than just the bad year like when he was here at Arkansas.

It's a shame too because he is a brilliant offensive mind but all the extra stuff that has gone with it just not worth it.

No, Traylor the UTSA coach. The THSCA is forcing him down the throats of the A&M administration. They want a "major" job for him
