Because your only job is to keep motivation high, take what someone else did and just cut some obvious errors, and hold the ship as steady as you can.

You don't involve yourself with hires, you don't really set the plan for the year or the approach to the game.

You trim a little fat of something that's already there.

O did that relatively well (I would say successfully if he had beaten Florida. That's a huge stain.) But that is far different than making the hires, setting the overall approach and gameplan, creating the playbook, etc.

I'm still waiting for the line of coaches that were beating the door down to coach at LSU that I was told about for years.

But again, this board has made it almost fact that the binder said Kiffin will be the OC, so...
Everything has pointed to kiffin being the top choice for O. All media reports consistently had kiffin at the top of our list, while mentioning guys like helfrich having interest in the job.

Kiffin finally gets his HC job and just now we have Canada meeting with us tomorrow, even though it's been 2 weeks since the end of the regular season. You think that's just a coincidence?

Aranda was good news right?

Shirley you see the difference here. Aranda was already here. Yes we locked him up, but the chances of him leaving for were pretty slim, no matter which coach we hired.

So yes, O gets a little credit for keeping him, but would've/shouldve been hung if he left.

look, I think its fairly obvious O was telling people Kiffin was likely headed here. You had the derek's biggest puppet on air in Culotta daily telling you how likely it was. No O never made any public statements saying he was bringing Lane but its fairly obvious he was making it known behind the scenes.

I think you were part of the mass hysteria that he was leaving...this board was melting b/c his contract wasn't signed immediately

If CLM had let his OC's do their job we wouldn't be in this mess. I wish I knew more about just how much meddling he did with personnel selection and play calling. Otherwise, it appears we still have the recruiting class we had heading into the season and we had Aranda. That recruiting class wanted to come play in the CLM program. So dang close.

Man it's a complete cluster frick right now with everything and there is no denying it. I'm not saying things can't turn around but so far it's looking like you get what you pay for. I am not surprised one bit right now.

It was a no brainer career decision for Aranda. He got a massive raise, can continue to work with our talent while he advances his system, and sees his stock continue to rise.

Joining Herman in Texas would have set him back because that is a massive rebuild job.

I'm thrilled Aranda is staying but locking up a coordinator already under contract is his biggest victory so far?

Who else would it be given timeline when Joe announced Ed O and the hot fiya assistants he had on lock?

That was the most curious thing about the sell to Joe Alleva. How could O possibly assure the administration that Lane Kiffin would leave Alabama for a less than lateral move here? Or that Saban would do anything in his power to prevent that from happening?

We could, if O listens to the fans as a whole, be responsible for LSU's success.

As long as he knows who to listen to and who to ignore.

You really want 80% of the rant in charge of ideas on the LSU football program?

people can deny it all they want, but people in the know have said that it was Kiffin. all sites, everything. sonny/shea said it, even the mouthpiece Tub said it...'barring something catastrophic happening, Kiffin will be OC' - per Tub.

and with that said, I interpret that to be the main target for O and one of the reasons why he got the job, bc he presented what was thought to be a legit plan, vetted by agents and coaches to be in place.

and now that's not happening.

Also I'm mocking the fact that O seems so responsive to the fanbase. I don't want any members of this board, including myself, to have that type of influence because most of us are retarded.

meh we had a few guys waiver in recruiting that could easily sign with us once our staff is in place and as far as hiring an OC everyone that would have been at the top of our list is still there with exception of Kiffin and Sark, who we could have hired immediately and had a drunk

right and that guy is supposedly as close to as you can get to O (minus the polish prince that resides in his a-hole)

so to sit here and pretend its the LSU fans that made up this Kiffin stuff is crap. The smoke started from his camp.
