But the media hounds will fawn all over him regardless.

Plaschke did no such thing in the LA Times article this morning. Basically said he will be no different than Clay Helton and the like if he doesn't do something with the defense.

How do things look for USC improving their d next year? They get any good recruits or transfers?

This is what I don't get: on the roster this year, they had the Pac-12 defensive player of the year, a top 10 overall recruit from 2021 (Korey Foreman, a DL), and the #7 overall recruit from 2022 (Domani Jackson), the latter two who basically saw no playing time this year. Yet, we fielded one of the worst defenses statistically in all of college football.

I believe it's coaching more than anything regardless of who USC recruits.

This is a crazy stat. Seems like with all the clock stoppages at least a few teams could’ve overcome like a 15 or 16 point lead.

TD
Safety
TD

that’s about as high scoring and perfect of an offensive sequence you can have in football, especially down 15. Just unreal

They should hire Pete Golding. I hear he is great on a white board.

I haven't followed recruiting closely for years, but weak on the lines for sure.

I'm sure Riley will be trying to backfill from the portal and process a whole bunch of guys.

It seems I read earlier this year that while CA produces an shite load of talent relatively little of it is in the trenches. Meaning there is one 5 star O lineman this year and that was not unusual for the state. Actually having a 5 star tackle is unusual.

Kind of insane considering the population.

I guess you missed the part where the offense gave up a safety

Grinch has to have some very juicy compromising material on Riley. Like some really good stuff.

Riley said that he went to USC because he couldn't get enough talent to come to OU.

This has to be one of the dumbest comments by a head coach in college football history. Oklahoma has never had a problem getting talent.
