During all these discussions about Deion, I’d been thinking South Florida seems like the perfect spot for him to move. Fertile recruiting ground and a place where the expectations aren’t sky high, but the right coach can win.

We currently have a black head coach, and he had zero head coaching experience before being offered the job.

Absolutely nothing against him, but I don't think we really even know if he can coach.

This x 1000. It’s easy to win games when your guys are bigger, faster, and stronger than all of your opponents. There wouldn’t be nearly as big of a talent gap in bigger conferences as there is in the SWAC.

USF isn't what people think. They don't even have their own stadium. You also have a lot of homeless that surround the campus. I'm not sure they have the boosters to support NIL either.

He’s at JSU in the shithole that is Jackson, MS. I think USF would be just fine

He has no chance of getting that job permanently. Unfortunately, there are many programs with money people that look at color, especially in the SEC.

That’s not what you claimed, you moron.

You can’t say Auburn and Ole Miss would never have a black head coach when we literally have one right now.

Wasn't there a report a week or so ago that Colorado was "in the redzone" on their coaching search?

The rumor mill has been rather quiet for them. This Deion report makes me wonder if they're actually prepared to make a big splash hire or they just don't know what they're doing.

Well, he was just complaining about Jackson St not having running water just recently. So I’d imagine that Colorado would be a step up.

McIntyre proved that you can win at CU-Boulder. Deion has proven that he can recruit anyone to anywhere…

but yet Jackson State had never had an undefeated regular season before

The G men have been the ones who have historically dominated the SWAC, 26 time conference champions

And he’s recruiting 5* kids to a SWAC school. Imagine what he can do with resources and a much larger budget.

Those places don’t have the cachet of an HBCU, which became a theme after George Floyd where black athletes basically evaluated why they chose the schools they chose. That probably had something to do with Deion taking the JSU job in September 2020

Lol, the Buffs don't have big "power brokers". That's part of the problem in Boulder, nobody gives a shite about the program, they only half pretend to when a camera or mic is on.

Yeah. All those HBCU’s are taking in the 4 and 5* recruits like JSU

Honestly I think he had the potential to crush it at USF..... But we will also learn if he can actually coach while he is there

The whole prime academy saga is hurting him in some of these searches

He can recruit FL while in Colorado. Country is smaller than it used to be.

Buffaloes are in a higher profile (yet relatively weak) conference, has a ton of tradition, legal weed, and wealthy boosters.

Primetime to Colorado would be the best stepping stone job
