Ross is just a mouthpiece. He isnt a real AD. He didn't fire Jimbo, the board did. He wasn't gonna hire Stoops, the board was.

Well he wasnt taking a pay cut. You think Ross had the authority to pay Stoops buyout at UK (I think somewhere around 25-30m) without board approval?

The word is Bjork flew solo on it and thought the board would be fine with it. He brought it to them tonight (or it leaked to them) and it was quickly made apparent that they were not on board and that was that

Holy hell, if this is actually true, that is sort of unbelievable.
I’m not sure I’ve heard of a AD just running around offering contracts without having any idea of what the board of regents wanted.

Who knows, there's lots of fog of war at this point. Perhaps they just want to throw him under the bus because it was such a shite sandwich and informed fans know who's on the board and who makes these decisions. One 247 mod and another poster another who posts good info has said this and it honestly makes a lot of sense with how things transpired. Obviously Bjork won't have any say going forward if that's the case. So we get another booster consortium to find us a coach

Mississippi State’s coach unexpectedly and shockingly passed away in the middle of December. Their options were limited.
The difference is that A&M has been working behind the scenes for months and months preparing to fire Jimbo. They were in charge of the timeline and planning.
Step A: Fire HC and name an interim to finish the season.
Step B: Hire a new coach.
The interim aspect is the least important part of the whole process. Step B is the most important. I guess the Jimbo buyout was such a hurdle that all their focus was on securing the money so they could complete Step A, and they forgot about Step B.

We all know the more likely scenario is the board wanted Stoops, it leaked and the fans went bat shite. Instead of the board standing under fire they back tracked and made Ross Bjork the sacrifice. Ross isn’t a strong enough AD to make an end around on the board.
Now he is dumb enough to be the fall guy and be sent off.
Or Robinson has a binder and presented binder. The board needed to get a guy near the goal line and have it fall apart and then hire Robinson with all the cover in the world.
Now we wait to see if he is Matt Luke, Ed O or Dabo. I’m guess O or Luke considering it’s the sec and a lot of dabo was propped up by an extremely down acc. Also aggy isn’t as patient as Clemson was at that time.
Now if he is an O that still delivers something aggy hasn’t seen in a long time.
