would say that The Road or No Country For Old Men would be better starting points for McCarthy. They are easier reads, but still give you an idea if McCarthy is your cup of tea. Blood Meridian is still a fantastic book though.

finally finished up blood meridian. Really disliked it. I wouldn't go as far as "hate", but it's certainly not my cup of tea.

It's just so dreadfully BORING. There are long, loooong stretches were not a damn thing happens. Then you'll have some fighting and scalping or partying and pillaging adn whatnot, followed by yet again excruciating stetches of boredom. It was a chore just to drag myself across the finish line. It was the first CM I'd read so I'm glad I can check that off my list now but I'll be glad to move onto something else.

I bought 3 Body problem after seeing all the rave reviews and will get started on that this week.

Just finished this. Really good first book. Takes place in East Texas. If you are a Grisham fan you’ll love this. Author is producer/writer for the Your Honor series.

a little over a quarter of the way through and you can tell it's about to really pick up steam. I'm digging it so far.
