Depends. For more difficult readings, where I'll really need to focus, I prefer an actual book. But if it's a quick, easy read, I'll just use my kindle. Also if you get yourself a library card, you can send books straight to your kindle using overdrive. 10/10 would recommend.

Book absolutely. I love the look, feel, and smell of paper and don’t need yet another screen to stare at.

I like both, but nothing beats the smell of an old paperback.

One thing I've noticed since I bought a Kindle Paperwhite is that I read a lot more now. the convenience of having many books on one device is great. But I agree that it has its disadvantages when illustrations and maps are needed. Usually I'll pull up the map on my phone and use that if necessary.

Kindle with printed word. If there are illustrations, I miss some of the details. In the Stormlight series, I would prefer to read the book in kindle form. I want to see the illustrations in print though.

A Kindle is so much more convenient for the beach, traveling, or just reading in general. I'm not a tree hugger, so the paper and conservation don't come into play for me. Not having 300 books laying around the house is a huge plus in my world too.

Books bc they feel right.

yep. i have books tucked away all over the house. at any time i'm probably reading 4 or 5 at the same time.

nothing beats curling up on the couch or a comfy chair with a cup of coffee and a book.

i consider books my BREAK from technology. last thing i want to do is stare at yet ANOTHER screen.

plus most of my books are 50 cent finds at the goodwill..cheaper than i can buy to view on my phone.

no i dont have a kindle. i hear the screen is less straining on your eyes but i still can't get over the book to screen hump.

Kindle is growing on me for sure. I just use the PC app atm, but I can see myself buying a Kindle reader at some point.

I used to be 100% book, but then I started traveling a ton for work and it became a chore to lug around all my books. So I switched to Kindle. Ended up just becoming the way I read books.

I'll still buy hardcovers of series I really, REALLY like though. Currently working on collecting all the Malazan Books of the Fallen.

Then it's off to try and scrounge up copies of Memory, Sorrow, Thorn since Williams is cranking Osten Ard back up.

Books. I love books. I have kindle and nook apps on my iPad, but I’ll take a book anytime.

I always read two books at a time, one paper and one on my kindle. I prefer paper, but I use my kindle for reading in bed or for reading away from home. And the books I read on my kindle are books that I don’t really want to keep and ever read again. I’m reading the new John Sandford book on Kindle because that’s not something I’ll ever want to read again, so, I don’t want the physical copy.

Once I tried a Kindle, all the practical reasons to prefer it over paper books resonated with me.

Texture and smell? It’s not a meal. I prefer a Kindle because paper books and newspapers give me dry, powdery fingertips.

I prefer a Kindle because it enables me to take my entire library with me. It enables me to highlight and take notes without being dependent on pens and pencils. It allows me to fact check on the same device.

There are simply no practical reasons to prefer old fashioned paper books over a Kindle.

Kindle

Easier to read via the kindle app (iPhone, iPad, computer; automatic syncing) instead of carrying a book everywhere. Also, EBR Library has a great e-book catalog. Once you're finished, click return and rent the other one. Takes less than 5 min.

Definitely book.
Haven't tried Kindle, though but don't enjoy reading articles on phone, IPad, computer as much. At work, I sometimes print an article to read it rather than read it on The screen.
I know..... weird!

This is great right up until your paperbacks start falling apart from all your rereads '

(I'm looking at you Wheel of Time novels...)
