GRRM has to be the laziest but great author conman of all time.

It's been 9 years since his last GOT book was published. Still no timeline of when The Winds of Winter will be released. He's kept fans on the hook that he works "every day" on this next book, but still not even a time frame for release, meanwhile the legacy of his stories were ruined by the last two seasons of the show. He should just admit that he's made enough money from previous book sales and HBO, and considering that he's now 71 years old, that he never has to work again.

He will die before releasing and I am getting to the point I won't care

Hopefully once he finishes it, GOT will remake the ending to the series

His output compared to like a Bernard Cornwell is sad.

I almost wish I had never started watching or reading the series......

It’s been 10 years since I read the books, IIRC the last book felt like he was treading water for a good portion of it. I don’t think he knows how he wants to get to his ending.

Just a general comment...
I've quit setting any kind of expectations when it means I have to rely on others. Find your own self-provided entertainment, a hobby or something.
For example, a co-worker is always complaining about this event and that restaurant and that TV show, etc. She stated herself she has no hobbies. She relies on other's for her entertainment and always ends up disappointed.

I gave up on ever reading any more after the show passed the books. The shittiness of the show after running out of source material killed any interest I had in finishing the books, assuming he ever got around to writing them.
I can't really blame GRRM. Dude's got his money and a sweet life now, so why work harder when you're retirement age?

Yeah I saw they put that on Amazon but there has been no peep from anyone, and books like that usually go through about a year of edits once a manuscript has turned in, and we don't even know if that has happened.
I don't believe it.

My feelings exactly.

Wtf? No wonder this thread died. People can post food topics on the OT over the food board, it's fine. I post a book thread and it gets sent to the graveyard.

frick off the book board rocks.
And ya, Martin got so lucky he got picked up by HBO. Tons of great fantasy and sci fi series out there, many of which are complete or have author regularly putting out new material and interacting with fans

GRRM hasn't put out a good book in 20 years. Feast outside of the Jaime chapters is bad and Dance was a turd as well. He doesn't know how to bring it all together because of all the random tiny story lines.
