My Hodor friend at lunch today told me that she thought that Jon was Rhaegar and Lyannas kid. Is there any way to possibly guess that based on the show or was she just messing with me. Didn't say that it was pretty much the #1 theory out there.

No. They barely mention Rhaegar or Lyanna and there no Tower of Joy scene.
You should ask her why she thinks that and what scenes led her to believe that

I don't get these women. I'm a chick and I love ASOIAF/GoT
To quote the best female character on the show- "Most girls are idiots"

Yeah, there's no evidence for this in the show, unlike the novels.

This is bizarre to me. Not because it's women, but because I know several women who are into the show because it's on HBO and there's legit male talent on it.

Ok I'll ask later since I was the only reader there and didnt want to say too much to the other couple show watchers. Guess they read that online

I know! My mom and sister are fans and my sister has read the first 4 books. And a lot of my girlfriends love it too, some Hodors some book readers.
There's definitely legit male talent in the show!!
But whatever, I'm going to use of the OT's favorite lines: bitches be crazy!

Uncat
Nah, Tyrion killing Tywin and Shae will be the biggest. We really haven't had a kinslayer yet.

I don't know. I think most will figure that out. Can't say that was particularly hard to see coming. I'm going with UnCat as well being their biggest shock. If they actually knew who Jon Arryn was, then I'd say Littlefinger basically being revealed as the big bad of the series, but they won't know what they're talking about anymore than Sansa did.

We have already seen Thoros bring back Beric. To think of him bringing back another person isn't going to be that much of a stretch. Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin will be huge to the Hodors.
"I am yours and you are mine" Those are wedding vows in Westeros and Tyrion and Shae have said that to each other.

Yeah, I was shocked by Tyrion killing Shae, but not all that much about him killing Tywin.

I don't think the fact that revival is possible will be the huge shock. I think the fact that a woman with a slit throat and has been floating in the river for awhile coming back is the shocking part of it. It's one of the two last people you'd expect to be revived.
I think with as well "liked" as Charles Dance is as Tywin, that's what'll make his death a big shock to the Hodors. They've done a great job of building him up as almost invincible because he's so cunning.

If you would have told me Charles Dance would top his roll of Benedict from "The Last Action Hero", I would have called you a liar. However, his portrayal of Tywin Lannister is nothing short of masterful.

What about Jaime killing his cousin in S2?

There's gonna be a new sample chapter from tWoW coming out very soon
Posted on 3/25/14 at 10:36 pm to Korin
Riddle me this. Why do people who enjoy a show turn around and reply "Oh, no , I am not a reader" when offered the knowledge the books exist? I can understand if you aren't all that into the show, but those that really enjoy it....the fact they cannot sit by themselves and read a book just blows my little introverted mind.
