I have it on good authority that WOW will finally be released 6 months after the show's finale. You heard it here first.

I hope you are right. I don't believe, but I hope.

Apparently Tubby is saying he’s now writing the fricker again. He says he’s got a good pace and wish Stoneheart were in the show, but I’m guessing by good pace he means 5 pages in 3 months: LINK

In a slight defense of GRRM, if I had created a universe of such depth with so many POV characters and so many plots, arcs, etc, there’s no fricking way in hell I’d be able to finish.

Editors can help with that issue.

I’m trying to read Fire and Blood and it’s boring the frick out of me. All those names and places that you only see referenced several times then that’s it. You don’t give a shite about those characters and there’s no character development at all.

It’s TOO complex and TOO rich a history and that “history book” should have been written AFTER finishing the damn Ice and Fire series!

GRRM hasn’t finished Fire and Blood either.

I liked it. It was just nice reading names and locations I recognized. I know I'm feeding the beast, but I can't help myself.

new headshot

1. It looks good on my dartboard,
2. It looks like a Sam Tarly clone
gone wrong, cuz Tyrion and Hotpie
masturbated into the growing
culture,
3. And it looks good on my dartboard.

Have you finished a book series with less depth and fewer characters?

I'm not arguing against the fact that he has indeed created a deep universe with a complex story, but that's not really a good defense when considering this is his "job" and he started the series 23 years ago, while it ballooned in size as it went.

I think the bottom line is the dude decided to cash in with tons of side books while the demand was hot.

This is now a ASOIAF Book Bunker thread. WTF did I just watch?

D&D said screw the Azor Ahai prophecy that has been mentioned multiple times in the show.

Something tells me that something of the magnitude of who kills the Night King would have come from GRRM himself. I know D&D has a lot of leeway in the storytelling, but I thought they had the big bullet points and were following them.

First, we have never heard the prophecy, just the Red Woman’s paraphrase. Second the Red woman says that Azor Ahai will lead the forces of light against the darkness, never says he will kill the Night King. Third, Arya doesn’t go to Winterfell if Hot Pie doesn’t tell her Jon is alive and King of the North. She’s on her way to Kings Landing. Just some thoughts.

... To defeat the Great Other.

Also, I'm pretty sure its mentioned with Dany, I remember Missandei saying that the translation can be prince or princess.

I know it would be tolkien-like (Good v. Evil) if Jon kills the NK, but Arya just doesn't make sense.

Here's my thoughts, I miss the grey zone in the previous seasons. For example, I miss being conflicted over a character like Jamie. The only 'grey zone' that exists is Jon and Dany's future for the throne, which will most likely be resolved.

Is this thread for book reader's only or not? Not sure what the last few replies are about but they seem to be coming from the show.

I'm fine either way but if TV show discussion is part of this thread I just won't visit.

I feel the same, but I figured there were so few of us now that it wouldn't matter.
