The Athletic is reporting that ESPN has fired Ponder, who had been hosting Sunday NFL Countdown, following her role with College GameDay..
quote:

ESPN is entering the end of its fiscal year, where it typically makes these types of decisions. Griffin’s stock had fallen, making him a prime candidate to be let go. While his seven-figure-per-year salary will be honored, his role had diminished to a point where ESPN decided to not keep him on. He was informed of ESPN’s move on Thursday morning, a source briefed on the decision confirmed.

Griffin is active on social media, chiming in on an array of issues, including when ESPN has had controversies.
And former NFL QB Robert Griffin III...
quote:

Over the years, Fox Sports has shown interest in Griffin. When it sought to find a successor to Reggie Bush, Griffin was high on its list, but it went with another former Heisman winner, Mark Ingram II.

Griffin is active on social media, chiming in on an array of issues, including when ESPN has had controversies.

ESPN declined to comment.

They both suck. Win for espn and humanity.

Ponder will be missed by all unwoke, based, non-cuckold men.

Ponder was great, but not a friend to the woke folks at ESPN. RG3 is terrible.

RGIII seems like a good guy, but he's an awful commentator.

I need a network that carries all the games I care to watch so that I never ever need to watch ESPN again.

I liked Ponder, she didn't try too hard and was solid. RG3 was over the top on commentating and tried to hard. His analysis was OK, but just tried make a name with his schtick. I would've been ok with him staying on if they had gotten him to tone it down. I like him as a guy and hope he gets a job somewhere else and tones it down.

RGIII was clearly the worst to commentate! Sam will be picked up by either Amazon, Fox or NFL.

Both were professionals. RG III Had solid takes and so did Sam. Not weak thoughts like these other clowns (Jemele Hill, Max Kellerman, Monica McNutt) Hard or EASE takes on Subjects based entirely on the race of others.ESPN is Not the World Wide Leader in Sports anymore. I wish RG3 and Sam Ponder the Very Best for their Realness and Honest Comments and Hope they get a Job Soon. They Deserve better!

Griffin was a total idiot, but I’m going to miss Sam. She was very fun to look at.

Griffin is average at best. IMO Sam Ponder is by far the most football knowledgeable female on TV. Andrews, Thompson, and Rowe are fine. But you won't hear them referring to pressuring safeties with a Bunch G-H Counter Boot or Double Post Y Cross. Ponder can not only talk the game, she knows what she's talking about.
