While speaking at the Baton Rouge Rotary Club on Wedneday, LSU Women's Basketball coach Kim Mulkey made some brutally honest comments about the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and how it needs to be renovated or replaced.

quote:

LSU women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey says the time has come to either do a major renovation to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center or replace it with a new arena.

“It’s time,” Mulkey said Wednesday, speaking to a packed meeting of the Baton Rouge Rotary Club in the South Stadium Club at Tiger Stadium. “That thing is 48-years old. You can’t grab a rail without holding onto somebody.

“I can say this now. I just won a national championship.”

This lady understands leverage. Kinda hard not to listen to her.

And it’s hilarious how your women’s basketball coach has way more power than the men’s

Leverage? WBB still is a loss financially even after winning the NC. Give us a break.

100% and don’t name the court or the building. Honor the greats with statues outside or something.

We need to figure out a way to make basketball a break-even program. Coach Mulkey and her team have just taken the first step. She has every right to ask for a new facility. It would help if the men’s team showed any signs of getting on track.

The players had to stop practicing when our Kinesiology class used the practice court. The PMAC is too small for the twenty first century. The weight room is a joke. The players are competing with courses for hoop time. The men and women’s teams need distinct facilities. It’s not rocket science. We need to demand more than paw paw’s worn out tightie whitie with poo stains stadium.

Stadiums don’t come for free…how much would you personally be willing to pay for that new stadium?
