How does them building a pool imply that it shouldn't be?

I graduated in 2014.. I'm pretty sure I paid fees to this. When do I get to go?

All alumni should have access. Seems like a great way to cool off while tailgating, at least until people start peeing and puking in it.

Anytime you want. You can activate free membership for as long as you paid fees towards this.

I believe I read that LSU's athletic department is fully self funded, with no money from taxpayers. If that's the case, they can build whatever they want.

this is unrelated to the athletic department.

That is true and they give the university $8 million a year as well.

Yes, was paid for with student fees. Student govt agreed to "pay" more in fees for an upgrade to the rec. Makes sense. Not like most of these kids are footing the bill anyway. Can't really complain about being priced out of higher ed though when you're agreeing to add $XXX to your fee bill every semester.

Doesn't matter what the student government does, if admin want to do something, they will add a fee to get it done. When they were renovating the student union, costs started to go up due to storms, the students voted against the fee increase, the board passed it anyway. Student government is just something to put on your resume.

student assessed fees and school assessed fees are two different fees. This is a student assessed fee.

So wait, we couldn't fire/hire a coach "because perception", but we can build an $85 million kiddie pool and that's screams "fiscal responsibility"? Louisiana gonna Louisiana. But I'll backstroke in it like a mofo!

Funny how people think this was just decided upon and constructed overnight... Also funny that people think this is an arbitrary decision by F. King. That's not how higher Ed budgets work.

Makes total sense to give 18-22 year olds fantasy-resort living conditions, paid for with govt loans. Great idea, society. What could possibly go wrong.

So much for legislative budget cuts?!

Student fees means increased grants and loans, which means more student debt and more burden on tax players.
