The SEC has filed a lawsuit against LSU and head coach Lane Kiffin over the Tigers’ recruitment of former professional athletes, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

“Defendants waged a deliberate and coordinated campaign to recruit professional athletes to play football for LSU during the 2026-27 season,” the SEC alleges in its filing.

The lawsuit marks another major escalation in the ongoing eligibility dispute between LSU and its own conference.

You can not take SEC serious until Ole Miss QB is disqualified.

You can’t follow all other TRO’s and disagree with one. Thats how.

I would have to agree that 2 players who most likely wouldn't play anyway, is not worth all this hassle. But this is still the NCAAs fault that all this is happening!!

How do you file a lawsuit against someone who hasn’t done anything wrong.

I guess just calling certain players is enough to get sued by the SEC. But only if your name is Kiffin.

Has nothing to do with lsu. These are players wanting to play a 5th year. frick the sec. That should be the chant when lsu houses aggies.

College football has become a lawyer feeding frenzy….kind of laughable, actually!

Better find a way to win this season, or things will get really nasty really fast.

Full scorched earth time. Replace the SEC logo on the field. Patches off jerseys. Pass out “frick Sankey” headbands.

Time to sue the SEC for causing such a distraction to the LSU football team before the season starts. Be cause to claim revenue loss if this team can’t make the playoffs and these distractions being a cause of it.

What about texas, Missouri, kentucky... if yall haven't researched by now, idk what you've been following. Texas OT started this and hes a starter. We talking about back ups who never even got a preseason rep. But besides that it is NOT ONLY LSU doing it. This is wild...

Just DQ all of them. Even the people supporting this know it's bullshite.

Disqualifying all of them is the only remedy.

So disqualify Chambliss and all the former European pro basketball players too right?

How do they have standing anyway? How did the recruitment of anyone actually harm them, and how can they prove the recruitment? This thing gets thrown out quick

How is this not the SEC colluding to attempt to force member schools into blackballing players who have filed suit?

Is Texas named as a co defendant for recruiting professional football player Cole Hutson? If not why not? Also, what exactly is a "professional football player" again? "A professional is a person who works in a paid occupation that requires specialized education, advanced training, and specific skills" - Aren't quite a few college football players now working in a paid occupation?

Hopefully this stops all the “SEC” chanting. If it isn’t LSU, the sec can go lose them all.

Yawn....This is a weak strategy by the SEC's legal team.

Did they threaten to sue Bama over the basketball player who actually played a game or two or texas who had a player

I think there are some necessary defendants that need including in this frivolous lawsuit.
