Details On Lane Kiffin's New Deal At LSU Have Emerged

Wilson Alexander of The Advocate has reported some details on Lane Kiffin's new deal at LSU.

Kiffin and LSU agreed to a seven-year, $91 million deal, according to his term sheet. His $13 million-per-year deal makes him one of just two coaches, along with Georgia's Kirby Smart, earning at least $13 million.

According to Alexander, Kiffin's contract includes an automatic escalator that would make him the highest-paid coach in the country if he wins the national championship.

Here's another interesting wrinkle to Kiffin's contract as it relates to Ole Miss' postseason run, according to Alexander:

This has been updated to include a fascinating part of Lane Kiffin's deal: LSU agreed to pay his postseason bonuses even though he won't coach Ole Miss in the CFP, so he could still make up to $1 million if the Rebels win a national title without him.

Crazy, LSU is going to pay him according to his Ole Miss incentives even though he's not at OM anymore. For example, if OM makes the CFP, LSU will pay him $150K and if OM makes the NC game, LSU will pay him $1 Mill... It was his choice to come to LSU, leave the OM contract details behind at OM.
