Austin Thomas has been hired after two years as the chief of staff at Ole Miss, sources told The Advocate on Friday.
This will be Thomas’ third stint at LSU. He worked for the Tigers from 2013-17, then returned for the 2021 season to help oversee roster management and daily operations. As the general manager at the time, he held a key role in LSU’s scouting and recruiting departments.
Thomas was not retained at the time as LSU coach Brian Kelly overhauled staff upon his arrival from Notre Dame. He’s now returning to play a key role in roster management and personnel.
