Report: LSU WR Malik Nabers Was Arrested In New Orleans On Monday Night

WAFB reports that LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers was arrested Monday night in New Orleans on a weapons charge.

Nabers was booked into the Orleans Parish Jail early Tuesday morning on a charge of Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, jail records show.

Records show Nabers was released late Tuesday morning on his own recognizance, meaning he was not required to post bond.

The arrest happened around 9 p.m. Monday evening but was not booked into the jail until just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, records show.

The LSU Athletics Department is aware of the arrest but was working to gather more details before releasing a statement, a source familiar with the matter told WAFB.

Nabers, a sophomore from Youngsville, La., caught 72 passes for 1017 yards and three touchdowns this past season.

Being in the city is very dangerous and protection is needed 24/7. I pray that Malik learned his lesson from what could've been and that he's granted mercy with a internal punishment ONLY.

It's illegal to carry a firearm concealed without a permit. A lot of states are going to constitutional carry, but our a few fat frick RINO's here in La shot it down

We should be very cautious how we handle this.

If we are too firm with Malik, he can just transfer portal out of the program.

Maybe we just offer in the future to have a “walk on” bring a gun to him on demand if he needs it.

This way he doesn’t need to catch a charge again and we can be more accommodating to him at the same time!
