Report: LSU To Hire Veteran NFL DL Coach Bill Johnson To Take Over For Dennis Johnson

LSU has reportedly hired longtime NFL defensive line coach Bill Johnson to take over for current defensive line coach Dennis Johnson who will not be able to coach this season following a double-knee injury while playing basketball this summer.
The news was first reported by Bruce Feldman.
Johnson, a native of Monroe, Louisiana, went to college at Northwestern State where his coaching career started in 1980 as a graduate assistant.
It was at Northwestern State where Johnson and head coach Ed Orgeron first connected, as Johnson was on the staff while Orgeron was playing for the Demons from 1980-1983.
Johnson worked his way up through the coaching ranks as a defensive line coach from 1982-2000 at schools like McNeese State, Louisiana Tech, Arkansas, and Texas A&M.
He got his first NFL defensive line coach job in 2001 when he was hired by the Atlanta Falcons. Here are his NFL coaching career details:
