LSU sophomore cornerback Dwight McGlothern has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz with On3Sports.

McGlothern, a former four-star prospect from Houston, Texas, turned into a key starter for the Tigers this past season after losing Derek Stingley Jr. and Eli Ricks to injuries. His departure means that LSU will need to replace all starting cornerbacks from last season.

There's more to this than accountability or grades or commitment. The influence of NIL is far greater than the vast majority of fans knows or wants to believe. The wide open pay to play practices without the representation of a quality agent, written contracts and the guidance of money hungry supporters of these inexperienced kids is like a free for all. It's much bigger than LSU. Every major program is dealing with it. Starters are doing it. Kids with existing NIL deals are doing it. UGA and Bama have players announcing today. Caleb Williams at OU, on and on. The NCAA, the conference commissioners, the legislators, they're all responsible for creating this mess and until they regulate it in some fashion, it will only get worse.

Hard to believe we went from Where Georgia is today to where we are now in the matter of two years..

Are you new to LSU? Do not compare UGA to us, like ever. They just won their first title in 42 years. It’s called a rebuild. It is how it works.

This was inevitable with Ed Orgeron. The red flags have always been there.

Look, if he doesn’t want to be here. Bye. Pure and simple. Quit having strokes over this. It’s a whole new staff and CBK runs a much tighter ship, some players simply do not want to be part of that. Bye.

New age of the transfer. Coaches say boo or try to hold you accountable and you bail. This is on the kids and their upbringing.

This is also another reason we need to be nearly 100% in state. So many of these out of state kids are not LSU kids. They didn’t grow up with it and they are not loyal to it.

They need to be a majority in state, but they also gotta keep recruiting Houston and high ranked out of state to have chances to win Championships. La kids aren't enough for Nattys.

Those days are gone. It's all about the $$ now. CFB as we grew up on is done.

Recruiting Houston is basically recruiting LA because everybody picks up and moves there after graduating anyways.

Hurts like a splinter. He didn’t want to be here. We had and still have a bunch of front runners. Let them be gone!

Per Shea Dixon, violation of team rules. There’s your reason. He didn’t do what he was supposed to, got in trouble and left. End of story.

Yeah, something is definitely up. It's called be shown the door if you think it's about you and above the team/university which has been LSU's problem since Miles era.

Does hurt, kid got alot of talent but when he knows he getting beat he tends to grab the wide receiver an aweful lot more then the others. He got alot of potential tho, just needs a good coach to coach him up. Hopefully he stays at lsu but if not ah well. Not crying over this guy. Flott, ricks and stingley were much better than this kid.

All the NCAA has to do is suspend NIL eligibility for 1 year after a transfer. All the BS stops immediately. These kids are jumping in the portal to shop for NIL deals. Without that, 90% of them are not in there. you might notice non of the bench warming walk ons are looking to transfer to gain a scholarship at a smaller school, this is almost all NIL related.

Good luck with that. Cows out of the barn and if the NCAA takes any steps to walk back earnings potential or transfer freedom, they will get hammered.

What makes you think the NCAA wants to stop it? It appears to be working exactly the way they set it up.
